Greening Coordinator (CPR)  Click to Apply

The Community Planning and Revitalization Division is seeking a qualified Greening Coordinator to manage work elements related to neighborhood greening initiatives. Working as part of Baltimore’s Green Network team, the Greening Coordinator partners with community groups, and residents to design greening plans, develop community outreach materials, gather community feedback, and identify partnership opportunities for project implementation. In addition, the Greening Coordinator performs contract and grant management functions that include seeking out, applying for, and managing grants; procuring contractors to perform necessary greening work; managing project budgets; and preparing and submitting quarterly reports on expenditures and performance measures. The ideal candidate will have a background in landscape architecture, community organizing, and a successful track record of applying for, securing, and managing grants.

The Climate and Resilience Planner (CRP) will assist with the development and implementation of climate resiliency and hazard mitigation plans, This role will further energy conservation efforts, renewable energy adoption and advance access to environmental amenities for climate vulnerable communities through collaboration with public and private partners and communities through work on key initiatives including the Community Resiliency Hub program, the administration’s Sustainability & Resiliency Subcabinet and others. 


Historic Preservation Planner (CHAP)  Click to Apply

The Historical and Architectural Preservation Division is seeking a qualified Historic Preservation Planner to manage work elements related to historic preservation activities.  Working as part of the Historical and Architectural Preservation Division, the Historic Preservation Planner manages historic preservation design review for local historic districts and landmarks, coordinates with neighborhood associations in problem solving, presents staff reports to the Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation, and coordinates with the Department of Housing and Community Development in code enforcement within local historic districts. 

In addition, the Historic Preservation Planner creates staff reports for historic district and landmark designations and manages these through the designation process including CHAP hearings, Planning Commission Hearings and City Council Hearings.  This planner may also be responsible for working collaboratively with other Department of Planning divisions on planning initiatives such as comprehensive master plans, neighborhood plans and strategies, urban renewal plans, and planning development regulatory reviews.  This planner will also work with other city agencies on preservation projects and the Maryland Historical Trust’s Section 106 review process.  The ideal candidate will have experience in dealing with the public, answering all questions regarding historic preservation in Baltimore.
